Standard glass is insulating Low E2 with argon. Variables influencing thermal performance include window size and operating style, the number of panes - single, double or triple, the amount of air space between panes, glass thickness, the dimension and type of spacer bar, Low E coatings, grilles and lites, and the addition of argon or krypton. Window products can be specified for high energy efficiency.
Tripane glazing, available with argon or kryton gas, provides excellent energy performance. It's available with Low E2 on both panes, with Low E1 on both panes for high SHGC, or with Low E3 on the exterior pane and Low E1 on the interior pane for low SHGC.
