At 6,100 feet above sea level, Marvin had high expectations to meet

A vacation destination for presidents, celebrities and dignitaries since 1891, the Broadmoor was created to rival the grandest European hotels. Returning this landmark to 5-star opulence involved crafting and fitting hundreds of replacement windows to non-uniform window openings and more.

Marvin accommodated a host of requests and surprises under a tight schedule, enabling the hotel to open at full capacity at the start of tourist season.

Project Highlights

  • Custom sizing capabilities allowed Marvin to manufacture hundreds of windows—no two with the exact same dimensions—and to meet the project’s tight schedule.  
  • To replace roll form aluminum windows from an unsuccessful renovation that failed to replicate the original moulding, Marvin created a custom embellished, extruded aluminum panning system to accommodate the stucco exterior. Archive photography was utilized to guide authenticity and maintain historical integrity.  
  • When original units were discovered under a previous remodeling, a 4' x 7' window replacement evolved into a 7' x 12' grand bay, right on time.
