A rough-and-tumble order only Marvin could fill

Knott's Camp Snoopy is a giant indoor theme park at the center of the Mall of America featuring food, entertainment and more than 50 rides, all in a rustic setting full of natural, rough-hewn materials.

Several manufacturers were initially identified as capable of meeting the specifications for wood windows. But when the designs developed into windows with authentic profiles, diverse cuts, several types of glass and unusual applications, only Marvin could fill the order.

Project Highlights

  • Storefront windows feature Authentic Divided Lites with several different patterns. Window modifications included 6" rails and heavy muntins.
  • Reflective glass was used for windows in administration and security areas. Casemaster windows, customized for ticket booths and display cases, required reinforced steel brackets, and mortise and keyed holes.
  • To create a realistic look for the rough and tumble Miners Hotel, Marvin employees hauled the window glass to a gravel pit near Marvin’s Warroad, MN facility, shot up the glass with a high-powered rifle and .22 pistols, and then laminated the glass to “protect” their work.
