An outside-the-box application

Designers for this bank project faced some engineering challenges after the project was underway. They needed innovative thinking and turned to Marvin. Field reps worked hand in hand with the contractor and architect to fully understand the needs and engineering logistics of the project before consulting with Marvin’s architectural department. A curtain wall application was devised to fill the steel skeleton structure. Marvin created new profiles for corner sash units and mull details, and designed for direct glazing from the exterior. Then they oversaw installation to insure that windows fit perfectly. They even created a new clad color to exactly match the architect’s spec. Strong partnership at every stage was the key to this successful project.

  • The building was designed to be energy efficient with geothermal wells and overhangs to control natural light.
  • Marvin was faced with the challenge of building an entire curtain wall application to fill the existing skeletal structure of the building.
  • New profiles needed to be created to accommodate for glazing from the exterior.
  • The custom clad color specified by the architect was matched exactly.
  • Job scope for this project included design, manufacture and installation of product.
