Wulling Hall / Minneapolis, MN
Custom design revitalizes a timeless building

Being selected to restore a campus landmark like the University of Minnesota’s Wulling Hall is a point of pride for the Signature Products and Services team.

To preserve the historic character of this grand building, the installation of nearly 200 new windows was performed using all of the original wood interior millwork.

Among the Wulling Hall’s most prominent features are four different large round top window assemblies—each a unique design—each with its original, intricate art glass in a secondary interior sash. Marvin Signature Products and Services preserved and integrated those ornate art glass details, along with all the other subtle design variations that create the building’s unique character.















Project Highlights

  • Each of the 200-plus modified, variation double hung windows feature custom clad casing and inverted, radiused corner profiles. Installation was performed using all of the original wood interior millwork.
  • Chain-and-Pulley Double Hung windows feature a first-ever “hidden” brass half-screen design that resides behind the upper sash, and is all but invisible from the outside.
  • Custom clad casing and sill profiles, as well as a custom color finish, helped ensure the historic accuracy of the building and preserve its beauty for decades to come.
